When is the Harbin Ice Festival?
December 24 - late February, peak in January. The Ice and Snow World opens in late December. Daytime temps can be -20°C to -30°C.
Is 3 days enough for Harbin?
Yes for highlights. You see Ice and Snow World, Saint Sophia, Central Street, and Siberian Tiger Park. Add a day for Yabuli ski resort.
How cold does it get?
December-February: -20°C to -30°C day, -35°C night. Wear thermal underwear, down jacket, snow boots, gloves, and hat. Balaclava for Ice World.
Can I visit outside winter?
Yes — summer Harbin is pleasant (20-25°C). Russian architecture, Volga Manor, and food are still highlights. No Ice Festival but less crowded.
