Is China safe for kids?
Yes — very safe. Violent crime is rare. The main challenges are crowds at popular sites, occasional stomach bugs from new food (pack probiotics), and pollution in cities (N95 masks for sensitive kids). Roads have a different rhythm — hold hands at all times.
What ages is this itinerary best for?
5-12 years old. Younger kids (under 5) will find the pace too much walking; older teens will be bored by some activities and want more independence. Adjust by adding Shanghai Acrobatic School, Beijing Peking Opera face-painting, or Universal Studios Beijing if relevant.
Are strollers OK in China?
Yes for airports, malls, and most museums. Forbidden City is partly accessible (some areas cobblestone). Great Wall cable car is stroller-friendly. Some hutongs are bumpy. Bring a carrier for kids under 2.
Do I need a separate visa for my kids?
No — kids use the same visa-free or visa as parents. Bring their passports. Some countries require notarized consent letters from the non-traveling parent — check your embassy.
