Mancheng Han Tombs

The 1968-discovered rock tombs of Liu Sheng (died 113 BC) and Dou Wan, with jade suits of some 2,500 plates and about 1.1 kg of gold wire; originals of the Changxin Palace Lamp now sit in the Hebei Museum in Shijiazhuang.

North to Yixian county, 90-odd km out, where four Qing emperors from Yongzheng on lie in the valley listed by UNESCO in 2000; the Guangxu tomb keeps the one imperial underground palace open to visitors.
