Ancestral Temple & Lingnan Tiandi

The temple to the water god Beidi, first raised in 1078, keeps the 1658 Wanfutai opera stage and twice-daily lion dances; the Wong Fei-hung memorial of 2001 and the Ip Man Hall sit in the same compound, and the restored lanes of Lingnan Tiandi are next door.

Shunde — garden & food

A district day about 30 kilometres south: the Ming-founded Qinghui Garden, then Huagai Road's snack lanes for double-skin milk and fried milk — Shunde joined UNESCO's Creative Cities as a gastronomy city in 2014 — before the evening rail out.
