Song wall & river confluence

The brick wall, rebuilt in the 11th century, still runs about 3.6 km; at Bajing Terrace the Zhang and Gong rivers meet to form the Gan River, and the pontoon bridge below Jianchunmen — roughly 400 m of planks on about 100 boats — has crossed here since around 1163.

About 10 km northwest of town, grottoes cut from the Tang into the Song hold hundreds of cliff carvings and inscriptions; leave time for the walkways, then depart from Ganzhou West on the HSR line that opened in December 2021 toward Shenzhen.
