Dateng Gorge and the East Pagoda

The Qian River narrows into a gorge about 44 km long, the "great rattan" of Ming records; a modern dam now holds the water. In town, the nine-level brick East Pagoda, built in the Ming Wanli era, rises some 50 m above the riverbank.
