Day 1

Wuzhou old city — pagoda, tower & mansion

The Northern Song pagoda of about 1062, rebuilt near a hundred metres tall in 2019; Li Qingzhao's verses at the Bayong Tower; the 1861 Shiwang Mansion and its Taiping murals before dinner.

Day 2

Shuanglong Cave on Jinhua hill

Ye Shengtao's 1957 essay made the routine famous — outer hall, flatboat through the rock gap, inner chambers under the twin dragon stalactites; add the waterfall chamber of nearby Binghu Cave if your legs allow.

Hengdian — Qin palace & Ming-Qing palace

About 1.5 hours south-east, the studios opened with a Guangzhou street built in 1996; walk the 1997 Qin palace in the morning and the full-scale Ming-Qing palace after lunch — stunt shows run through the day.

Day 4

Dongyang — Luzhai mansion & wood carving

Back toward town, the Lu family compound in Dongyang has stood since Ming times — the Suyong Hall axis, lattice screens and the city's wood-carving workshops nearby.

Lanxi — Zhuge village & underground river

The village laid out in Yuan times around the Zhong pool with eight radiating lanes, still home to Zhuge Liang's descendants; finish with a boat into the underground river at Liudongshan before evening trains.
