Day 1

Arrival, Wanxiang Cave & Bailong River

Wudu, the prefecture seat on the Bailong river, then the karst cave about 10 km out of town — cool, lit chambers — and a riverside evening of peppercorn-scented stalls.

Day 2

Guan'egou — Guanzhu Valley

About 100 km north to Dangchang, a national 5A area — walk the Guanzhu valley's chain of green lakes and falls under peaks near 4,000 m; overnight in the county town some 5 km from the gate.

Day 3

Hadapu & Back South

Some 35 km down the valley, the memorial and preserved street correspond to the September 1935 halt when newspapers in the town set the Red Army's course — a quiet, factual visit — then the drive back to Wudu.

Day 4

Chengxian — Xixia Song & Jifeng

About 90 km northeast to Chengxian — the Eastern Han cliff inscription of 171 AD, one of the "Three Odes" of Han calligraphy, inside the Xixia gorge, then the forest paths of Jifeng mountain; sleep in Chengxian town.

Day 5

Xihe Lake & Departure

West through Xihe county, the Wanxia reservoir lies just outside town, centre of the Qiqiao maidens' festival listed nationally since 2006; a long final drive of about two and a half hours returns you to Wudu for the evening train.
