To Yongding — Hongkeng & Chengqi Lou

About an hour to Yongding, heart of the Fujian tulou inscribed by UNESCO in 2008 — Hongkeng's Zhencheng Lou of 1912 arranges its rooms on a bagua plan, while Chengqi Lou nearby stacks four concentric rings and some 400 rooms; sleep at the tulou for the evening lamps.

Day 2

Chuxi Mist & Gutian

Early light over the riverside cluster at Chuxi, where the oldest hall dates to 1419 by most datings, then the drive to Gutian town, where the December 1929 meeting was held in a clan hall — a protected historic site with a museum alongside; return to Longyan by evening.

Day 3

Guanzhai & Shimen Lake

About 1.5 hours to Liancheng county, where Guanzhai's cliff faces rise straight from the water; pair the ridge walk with a boat loop on Shimen lake below, then back to Longyan station for the evening departure.
