Wulian & Jiuxian Mountains

Wulian's five lotus-bud peaks top out at 515.7 m; the Guangming Temple was founded by imperial order in 1602, and azaleas fill the slopes in April. Jiuxian's gorge walks stay cool through summer.

Fulai Mountain & Departure

In Ju county, a ginkgo some 4,000 years old shades the Dinglin Temple courtyard, traditionally linked to Liu Xie, author of the Wenxin Diaolong. Evening train back from Rizhao.
