Qixinghe Marshes — Baoqing Day

An honest long day east to Baoqing county, roughly two hours each way, for the national nature reserve of about 20,000 hectares of marsh — cranes and swans pass through in season; back to the city by evening.

Fenglin Ancient Town & Departure

In Youyi county about an hour north-east, the rammed-earth walls of Fenglin mark a walled settlement some 2,000 years old from the Han-Wei period, protected at national level since 2001; market lunch, then the HSR from Shuangyashan West.
