Chagan Lake Day

The lake spans over 400 sq km in Qian Gorlos Mongol Autonomous County (set up 1956); net-fishing has been national heritage since 2008, the festival runs since 2002, and the tradition reaches back to the Liao and Jin courts roughly 1,000 years ago. Winter nets work from late December into January on ice near 30 cm thick.
