Arrival, Museum & Square

No airport up here — fly to Haikou Meilan, about 230 km and 3 hours by car, or HSR to Sanya and the 80 km mountain expressway in about 1.5 hours. Museum first, evening loop of March Third Square.

Shuiman Rainforest & Li Culture Park

Shuiman township, 24 km and about 40 minutes uphill. The rainforest ticket is about 50 yuan with 2-3 hours of boardwalks; the Li Dong culture park and its ancestral hall stand near the township. Nights run cool — pack a layer.

Red Canyon Rafting & Taiping Falls

First launch on the Red Canyon course — about 4 km, roughly 200 yuan with gear and shuttle, an hour and a half on the water. Drifts often pause after heavy rain June to October. Then Taiping waterfall, 6 km from town.

Day 4

Yahu Terraces & Chubao Village

North to Maoyang township, about 40 minutes — Yahu's terraces flood mirror-bright in May and June and turn gold before the October harvest. Chubao village keeps rows of protected boat-shaped thatched houses.

Wuzhishan Rest Day

A deliberate slow day — brocade workshops downtown, bamboo-tube rice and oil tea at a Li-run kitchen, laundry, an early night before two days of walking.

River Source & Tea Slopes

Back up to Shuiman for the trail toward the Changhua River source — Hainan's second-longest river starts under these peaks — then the township's tea plots, picked for spring leaf from March to April. Roasted high-mountain tea is best bought at origin.

Shuiman Slow Second Day

A second, gentler Shuiman day — dawn viewing of the five-peak silhouette from the township side when clouds allow, then tea-hill lanes and a long lunch. The full summit climb needs guides and two days; it is not a casual walk.

Sanya Coast Neighbor Day

An honest neighbor day, clearly labeled — Sanya is a separate city, 80 km down the mountain expressway, about 1.5 hours. Swim at Dadonghai bay, walk the shore, eat seafood, and drive back up before dark; the coast is hotter than the hills.

Yanoda Valley Neighbor Day

Another labeled neighbor day — the Yanoda rainforest park sits in Baoting county, about 60 km and 1.5 hours away. Entry plus park shuttle is paid separately; zip lines and boardwalks fill a full day. On the way back, Qixianling's hot springs near Baoting town offer a soak if time allows.

Tea Morning & Departure

A last morning among the tea shops downtown, luggage straight from the market — chrysanthemum and mountain-honey vendors crowd the arcades — then the drive out, 1.5 hours to Sanya, about 3 to Haikou Meilan airport.
