Wanfeng Forest and Nahui Village

Take the 70-yuan ticket with the 50-yuan shuttle to the lookout loop over nearly 20,000 cone peaks, then walk or cycle into Nahui Village for the fried-rice lanes — rapeseed blooms January to March.

Malinghe Canyon and Guizhou Dragons

The canyon runs 74.8 km with walls up to 280 m and falls at full throat June to September, entry about 80 yuan. Twenty minutes on, the Dingxiao museum shows Guizhou-dragon fossils about 240 million years old.

Wanfeng Lake and Nanlong

A 40-minute drive to the 176-sq-km reservoir for a boat cruise among green islets, then the old Buyi village of Nanlong under centuries-old banyan trees on the shore.

Nidi — Residence and Stone Forest

About 42 km southwest, an hour out, the childhood home of Republican-era general and premier He Yingqin (1890-1987) beside a small karst stone forest — one rural loop covers both.

Twenty-Four Bends — Qinglong Day

Qinglong County sits elsewhere in the prefecture, about two hours northeast — a wartime mountain road stacking 24 hairpins over roughly 4 km and some 260 vertical meters, the postcard image of the old Stilwell Road.

Liu Manor, Museum and Snack Lanes

The Liu family manor south of downtown — seat of warlord-era governor Liu Xianshi — then the prefectural museum near center for Yelang and Han-era finds (closed Mondays), with street-center snack lanes after dark.
