Arxan National Forest Park on the Mongolian border is a volcanic landscape of crater lakes (Tianchi), lava fields, hot springs and dense birch-larch forest — plus China's smallest village-adjacent ski scene. The park's lakes mirror the sky at altitude and the hot springs gave the town its spa name.
