什刹海是北京城内难得的水域景观,三个湖泊与周边胡同、四合院共同构成典型的老北京风貌。据说这里曾是古代停车存放皇家马匹的地方,"什刹"之名有多种说法。湖边垂柳依依,夏季可泛舟,冬季可滑冰。
银锭桥横跨后海与后海交汇处,是什刹海的标志性建筑。站在桥上可远眺西山,天气好时还能看到玉泉山的玉峰塔。桥周边是最佳拍照点,也是游客最集中的地方。
后海酒吧街是北京夜生活的代表,沿湖分布着上百家酒吧和餐厅。白天宁静古朴,入夜后霓虹闪烁,驻唱歌手的歌声飘出窗外,充满文艺气息。近年来酒吧街趋于商业化,但仍是体验北京夜生活的好去处。

俯瞰故宫最佳位置,高约45米,万春亭为北京中轴线最高点。门票2元,6:00-21:00。故宫神武门正对面,地铁1号线天安门东站步行15分钟。
