For the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival — the world's largest ice festival with full-size buildings made of ice. Also: St. Sophia Cathedral (largest Orthodox church in East Asia), Siberian Tiger Park, and the bizarre but wonderful snow tourism industry.
Getting there
Harbin Taiping Airport (HRB) has flights from major Chinese cities. HSR from Beijing: 5-6 hours (or faster 4-5h by new trains). Some travelers fly direct.
