Arrival & Mangshi's Golden Hill

The gilded stupa on the hill east of town was completed in 2007 and stands 73 metres; the old tree-wrapped stupa and the night market finish the day.

Ruili — Border Gate & One Village

About 100 km southwest to Ruili — the gate of the Jiegao trade zone, under its special border-trade regime since 2000, across 1.92 square kilometres, then the village of One Village, Two Countries with boundary marker No. 71.

Moli Rainforest & Departure

A boardwalk through monsoon forest to a waterfall of some 60 metres, then back via Mangshi airport, opened in 1990, for the flight out.
