Six kilometres of galleries at Qiliang Cave, and the stone walls of Huangsiqiao, first raised in 687 AD, about 25 kilometres southwest.

Shanjiang — Miao county north

About 20 kilometres north, the market town of Shanjiang holds a county-wide Miao museum, silver-work workshops and hillside stilt villages; time the trip to a market day if you can.

Listening hillock & gorge boats

Shen Congwen's ashes were brought back to the Tuo River country in 1992 — a natural boulder marks the spot on Tingtao Hill, kept plain — then boats in the Changtangang gorge below the old dam.
