14 Days in Jingdezhen
Two weeks give each kiln site room to breathe, add Yaoli, Fuliang and Leping, and honest neighbour days in Wuyuan and at Lushan, with slack for a wheel class and shipping the haul home.
Quick Answer
Is 14 days enough for Jingdezhen?
14 days lets you go beyond Jingdezhen's core into neighborhoods, food markets, and one or two day trips at a relaxed pace.

14-day Jingdezhen itinerary at a glance
Use our full Jingdezhen travel guide as the base and adapt it to 14 days. Keep the city's three signature attractions as the backbone; fill the rest with neighborhood walks, food markets, and an easy day trip.
Arrival & Taoyangli
Named for the Jingde reign of 1004-1007, the city has fired porcelain for over 1,000 years. Taoyangli holds the Ming imperial kiln factory — serving the court until 1911 — the pits of smashed rejects, the 2020 brick-vaulted museum, and the Dragon Pearl Pavilion.

Ancient Kiln Folk Park
A full morning at the 5A park — Song dragon kiln, Ming gourd kiln, the Qing egg-shaped town kiln re-fired in 2009, and a porcelain-instrument show around noon. Entry about 95 yuan.

Museum Day & Taoxichuan Evening
The free China Ceramics Museum holds some 50,000 pieces, Song qingbai to Qing export ware, with the deadpan arhat that went viral. After dark, Taoxichuan — a 1950s state factory reborn in 2016 — runs its bazaar under the old kiln sheds.

Sanbao Valley Whole Day
Sanbao's five-kilometre valley holds hundreds of studios; Li Jianshen opened the first international one in a farmhouse in the 1990s. Wander slowly, lunch in a courtyard café, and let the kilns and woodstacks do the talking.

Sculpture Factory & the Saturday Market
The Pottery Workshop, founded in Hong Kong in 1985, has anchored the Sculpture Factory for years; on Saturday afternoons its creative market stacks tables with young ceramicists. Not a Saturday? Studios open their doors anyway, and several take drop-ins for wheel time.

Hutian Kilns
Hutian fed the Song-Yuan craze for qingbai ware; a national protected site since 1982, its workings sit open-air with a folk-kiln museum. An easy half day — keep the evening free for a slow dinner.

Old Town Lanes
Across the Chang River, Sanlümiao's Ming-Qing flagstone lanes once served the kiln quarters; teahouses still pour by the water. A low-key day for laundry, notes, and another bowl of cold rice noodles.

Fuliang Yamen & Red Pagoda
Fuliang's yamen is billed as the best-preserved county government seat south of the Yangtze; its magistrates ranked fifth grade, a notch above peers, on tea taxes. Beside it stands a red-brick pagoda closing on 1,000 years old.

Yaoli Day in the Hills
About 50 km northeast, Yaoli keeps Ming-Qing Huizhou-style streets, the Cheng Clan Hall, and a 1938 New Fourth Army site; nearby Gaoling village gave the world the word kaolin. Buses and shared cars run from downtown — a full day, back by night.

Leping — Opera Stages & a Cave
An honest greater-Jingdezhen day — Leping, the county-level city about an hour south, keeps some 400 timber opera stages, which earned it the old-stage fame of Jiangxi opera country; then the lit karst halls of Hongyan in the hills beyond. Back by evening.

Markets & Shipping Day
Trawl the porcelain markets near People's Square, from a few yuan a cup to studio one-offs. Couriers foam-pack and ship crates home — do it today, not at the station. Anything fragile rides in the middle of your bag.

Wuyuan Neighbour Day
An honest neighbour day — Wuyuan is a separate county to the east, 30 minutes away by HSR, famous for Huizhou villages and, in season, rapeseed terraces; it has its own page on this site. Return by evening, or stay over if the maples are in.

Lushan Neighbour Day
Another honest neighbour day — Lushan, UNESCO-listed in 1996, belongs to Jiujiang, roughly 90 minutes northwest by rail. Guling, the stone town at 1,164 metres, and the cliff-side walks make a long day; stay over if the weather holds.

Riverside Walk & Departure
A last loop along the Chang — the waterway that floated kiln wood into town for centuries — then out from the North station. Nanchang is about an hour by HSR, or fly from Luojia airport.
