The ferry from Zhujiajian's Wugongzhi wharf takes 10 to 15 minutes; Puji Temple, first recorded in 1080, charges a 5-yuan incense ticket, and the 33-m Guanyin statue by the southern cliffs was raised in 1997.

Fayu and the Stairway to Huiji

Fayu Temple dates to 1580; from its gate the Xiangyun stairway climbs 1,088 steps (a cable car runs alongside) to Huiji on 291-m Foding Mountain. Each temple asks a 5-yuan incense ticket - that is the full visit ritual.

Zizhulin, Beach and Departure

Zizhulin keeps the Tang-era account of a Japanese monk whose ship would not sail with a Guanyin statue aboard; walk Baibusha's sand in the afternoon and catch the ferry back to Zhujiajian.
