Dongzha & Mao Dun's House

Dongzha, 110 yuan, opens about 8:00. Mao Dun's birthplace stands on Guanqian Street inside the ticket area — a late-Qing courtyard kept as the writer left it, with his desk and books; visit it as a residence, plainly. The shadow-puppet theatre plays short shows through the day.

Xizha Day into Night

Xizha alone is 150 yuan, the East-West combo 190. Sleep inside Xizha — after the coaches leave around 21:00 the lanes belong to guests, and the lamps stay on to about 22:00. The Muxin Art Museum charges 20 yuan extra and closes Mondays.

Wucun, Nanzha & Departure

Wucun, the farm village beside Xizha, runs all-inclusive day programs — book a day ahead in season. Nanzha, the unfenced southern street, costs nothing and stays fully local. Tongxiang HSR station is 13 km away, 20-30 minutes by car; Shanghai Hongqiao about 40 minutes by train, Hangzhou East about 20.
