Tiananmen Square (天安门广场, Tiān'ānmén Guǎngchǎng)

What to expect

天安门广场是北京市中心的核心区域,1949年10月1日毛泽东在此宣告中华人民共和国成立,从此这里成为国家象征。广场呈长方形,南北长约880米,东西宽约500米,可容纳100万人集会。

广场中央矗立着人民英雄纪念碑,碑高37.94米,正面镌刻着毛泽东题写的人民英雄永垂不朽八个镏金大字。纪念碑后方是毛主席纪念堂,安放着毛泽东主席的遗体。

参观广场需经过严格安检,禁止携带大件行李和危险物品。升降旗仪式是必看项目,建议提前查好当天时间。广场周边景点密集,可与故宫、国家博物馆等一同规划游览。
