Nam Co Lake (纳木措, Nàmùcuò)
纳木措位于拉萨市当雄县与那曲地区班戈县之间，是西藏第二大湖泊，也是世界上海拔最高的大型湖泊。纳木措藏语意为天湖，是藏传佛教的圣湖之一，湖水被虔诚的信徒视为可以洗清罪孽的甘露。湖的东南侧是终年积雪的念青唐古拉山主峰，雪山与湖泊相映，景色极为壮丽。

What to expect

A sacred turquoise lake at 4,441 m and one of Tibet's three holy lakes, reached by a 2.5-hour drive from Lhasa over the 4,794 m Kamba La pass. Plan a half-day; the postcard turquoise only appears in direct sun, so it's a gamble in monsoon cloud.
